Sweet Cooking With Greens Barbecue Sauce

  • 1 6oz can tomato paste
  • 4 tsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 tbsp Cooking with Greens No Salt Go To Blend
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon hickory liquid smoke
  • 3 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Cooking with Greens Pink Himalayan sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking with Greens No Salt Onion black pepper blend
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch dissolved in 1/8 cup cold water (optional)
  • a pinch each of cinnamon, cloves, allspice
Mix or whisk together all ingredients (except the optional corn starch in water) in a medium pot over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until sugar has dissolved. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes to thicken. If you want the sauce thick, add cornstarch mixture during simmering. Allow to cool and store or freeze remainder.
