Easy Teriyaki Sauce marinade

  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • pinch ginger powder
  • 5 cloves garlic smashed and chopped
  • pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cold water

Heat sesame seeds in a small hot saute pan, until seeds are slightly browned. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients except the cornstarch and water to a small saucepan. Bring to boil then reduce to simmer. Cook until sauce slightly reduces. Combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Slowly add some slurry to sauce until desired thickness.
